Medical care

There are state and private health care providers in Slovakia. In case of health problems you need to visit a general practitioner (GP) first, who provides basic health care and can then refer you to the appropriate specialist for further medical examination.

Within the university campus, there are a general practitioner and a dentist available:

General practitioner

Working hours: Mon - Thu 8.00 am - 4.00 pm Tel.: +421 37 653 7255

You may select another doctor if you wish. Most of the general practitioners and specialists are located in the Medical Centers:

Medical Center Chrenova - Fatranská street 12, Nitra
Medical Center Klokočina - Hviezdoslavova street 1, Nitra
Dental Policlinics Parovce, Koceľova street 29, Nitra

There is a general hospital in Nitra located in Špitálska street 6.

Emergency medical service

After regular working hours of GP`s and specialists (during the night and weekends) necessary health care is provided by the Emergency service: Nitra Hospital, Špitálska street 6, Nitra Tel.: +421 37 651 4259

Working hours: 4.00 pm - 7.00 am on weekdays 7.00 pm - 7.00 am at weekends.

First aid service

In case of accidents, emergencies and other acute serious health problems call First Aid Service 112 or 155 or go to the central reception of a hospital (Centrálny príjem).
