Memberships in international organisations

 

One of the main priorities of our university is an active development of international cooperation and  integration of  SUA  into recognized international associations. Currently SUA is a member of:

 
 

Magna Charta UniversitatumMagna Charta Universitatum - The Magna Charta Observatory of Fundamental University Values and Rights is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by the University of Bologna and the EUA Association which sets itself the objective of gathering information, opinions and preparing documents to preserve and support fundamental university values and rights enshrined in Magna Charta Universitatum. FAO - Global Soil Partnership organization associating various institutions to maintain healthy and fertile land for food supply in the world by building capacities and exchanging experiences, knowledge and sustainable resource management technologies.

VUA brings together 50 universities from 23 countries. The role of the association is to link the partner universities in order to create good conditions for learning and research and to initiate a closer cooperation of the Visegrad Group and cooperating regions. VUA was established at SUA  in November 2011.

EUA - European Univerity Association The Association represents dozens of major universities in Europe and its members have access to current information from the academic environment. EUA is the official representative of the higher education sector in the Bologna process and plays an essential role in shaping the future of higher education in Europe.

DRC – Danube Rector´s Conference DRC currently has more than 50 universities from 13 countries. It aims to raise the general level of learning outcomes and support mobility, reduce the cost of tertiary education and drop-out rates, as well as promote multilateral regional cooperation.

IAU – International Association of Universities. Established by UNESCO in 1950, it unites higher education institutions and organizations from some 150 countries. IUA collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education.

ICA / CASEE – Association for European Life Science Universities . The network of more than 60 universities with a focus on agriculture, food, natural resources, rural development and environment. The association is to increase the success of partner organizations in the international market, and create a favourable environment for sharing experiences and promote cooperation.

Asociácia ISEKI Food (Integrating Food Science and Engineering Knowledge Into the Food Chain). The main objectives of ISEKI – Food Association are establishment and maintenance of a network between universities, research institutions and companies in the food chain by promoting synergies between research, education/teaching and industry. Development of a virtual community of experts in the field of food, with communication to the general public. Establishment  of a framework of agreements among partners, fostering the mobility of students and staff.

 

International Agrarian Research and Development Cluster of the river Tisza basin.The common goal of the programme is the international integration of production  which supports a safe food supply for the population, particularly focusing on basic foods that can be produced in these areas.

 

ESSSR (European School of Sustainability Science and Research) There is at present in Europe no single organization or setting, which coordinates efforts in the field of sustainability science teaching and research on the continent, in an integrated way. Yet, much could be gained if the extensive body of knowledge, expertise and resources which European universities currently have available, could be consolidated, with a view to strengthening their profiles, activities, and scientific outputs. It is on the basis of the need to address this gap, that the ESSSR has been created.
