EAAE award for prof. Guido Van Huylenbroeck, Doctor honoris causa of SUA
Prof. Guido Van Huylenbroeck, a long-term partner of our university at the University of Ghent in Belgium, was awarded by the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) on November 18, 2020. He received the award on the basis of a nomination from the Belgian Association of Agricultural Economics (BVLE) for his high level of professionalism in the field of agricultural economics and rural development, as well as for his research and educational contribution in this field at European level. So far, only 20 agricultural economists have received this prestigious award.
Prof. Van Huylenboreck, a Doctor honoris causa of SUA in Nitra, has pioneered academic research in multifunctional agriculture, institutional economics and alternative farm income models. At the level of international academic education, he is recognized as the founder of the international master's program in rural development Erasmus Mundus, within which we have been cooperating with the University of Ghent since the academic year 2004/2005. He currently works at the Department of Agricultural Economics, and holds the position of Academic Director for Internationalization at the University of Ghent.
The official award ceremony will be part of the EAAE Annual Congress in Prague in the summer of 2021 (originally scheduled for August 2020).
