SUA became a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia
At the end of February 2021, the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic (AOK) approved the application of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra for membership in this prestigious association. The ratification process was preceded by the successful cooperation of the AOK with the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM).
The Faculty of Economics and Management is constantly striving to expand the portfolio of partner organizations. Negotiations with the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia in the spring of 2020 also emerged from this philosophy, when the idea arose to offer FEM students the subject Skills for Success, provided by external lecturers. The teaching started in the winter semester 2020/2021 and met with a very good response. Students praised the focus and practical knowledge presented by experts from practice. The content of the course was mainly "soft skills" (soft skills of the manager), which are currently in great demand in the labour market and are essential for the work of managers at all levels of management. Individual lectures and exercises took place in the form of training workshops and were provided by experts from partner companies (Adient, Dell, IBM, Siemens, AT&T, PwC) associated in the American Chamber of Commerce.
The successful cooperation resulted in negotiations on the entry of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra among the members of the American Chamber of Commerce. The ratification process was completed by the approval of the application for membership by the AOK Board. Membership is intended to bring the university several benefits in the form of direct contact with the companies associated in this association, which would contribute to expanding the possibilities of cooperation with practice in the field of education and research, as well as in the field of professional practice for students.

Through committees, working groups and other efforts, members have the opportunity to influence policies that have an impact on business and public affairs.
