SUA is again one of the most sustainable universities in Slovakia
The realized and planned investments, which take into account sustainable solutions, paid off for the university and in the worldwide UI Green Metric World University Rankings SUA in Nitra jumped from 586th to 352nd place and thus ranked among the top 500 universities and 10 universities within the V4, activities of which are environmentally friendly.
The university was evaluated in six categories: infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transport and education. Among the best rated categories were waste management and education. The waste is separated within the SUA campus, students also have the possibility of community composting. The subjects taught in all disciplines are designed to include those that address sustainable solutions and inform students about the climate change. The university annually organizes workshops, seminars and hackathons for high school and university students, as well as for teachers focused on innovative tools in the field of agri-food, ensuring protection against floods and droughts, taking into account the protection of natural resources, protection of consumer health, ensuring traceability of production and minimizing food waste.
