Healthy soils are essential for the future of European crop production. Especially in intensive production systems, soil-borne diseases are a major factor with a negative impact on soil health. Appropriate crop rotation practices and good agricultural practice make it possible to improve, restore and maintain soil health in Europe.
In July 2020, the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra entered the prestigious Essential Science Indicators (ESI) scientific database for the first time. It which provides an overview of world trends in science, leading scientists, top institutions and the most cited scientific articles and works. SUA was included in the database on the basis of excellent results in the field of Plant and Animal Science.
The EIT Food RIS INNOVATION PRIZES 2020 competition has its winners. The online finals of the prestigious startupist competition, organized as part of the EIT Food Hub project, took place on 10 July. Eight teams presented their innovative ideas in the agri-food sector.
The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra was successful in the Call 2020 for projects of European universities (ERASMUS +) and as the only Slovak university it became the leader of the alliance INnoVations of REGional Sustainability: European UniversiTy Alliance - INVEST. The efforts of the project team, which under the leadership of prof. Anna Bandlerová from the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development and in cooperation with the Rectorate of the SUA prepared the project was crowned with success. The Alliance's activities will focus on students at all three levels of study, as well as on the academic and non-academic staff of the Alliance's partners.
Thirteen Slovak universities were evaluated in the latest Scimago Institutions Ranking 2020 ranking. The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra ranked second, ranking 743rd in the global rankings involving universities and research institutions.
