The realized and planned investments, which take into account sustainable solutions, paid off for the university and in the worldwide UI Green Metric World University Rankings SUA in Nitra jumped from 586th to 352nd place and thus ranked among the top 500 universities and 10 universities within the V4, activities of which are environmentally friendly.

Prof. Ing. Marián Brestič, CSc., and doc. Ing. Marek Živčák, PhD., from the Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra received the prestigious world award Highly Cited Researchers 2020, which ranks them among the absolute world leaders (top 0.1% of researchers) in the field of Plant and Animal Sciences. Experts in the field of ecophysiology and stress physiology of crops have long been concerned with the effects of environmental stressors on the photosynthetic apparatus of plants and the application of non-invasive methods in the diagnosis of functional state of plants.

SUA as a partner in the project of the Biomedical Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (grant recipient) in Bratislava within the Operational Program Integrated Infrastructure, calls for applications for grants to support long-term strategic research - Population Health and Health Technologies, together with partners, submitted a project entitled Long-term strategic research on prevention, intervention and mechanisms of obesity and its comorbidities.

During the pandemic crisis, the agri-food sector proved to be one of the most resilient. At the same time, the shock caused by the pandemic has accelerated the development of trends that have been visible in the sector before - digitization, more informed consumer choices and preference in choosing local products.

Under the auspices of the EIT Food Hub, an online workshop on Strengthening Knowledge Exchange and Interactive Innovation was held on Wednesday 25 November, led by Ing. Miroslav Záhradník, PhD., an expert from the National Agricultural and Food Center in Lužianky.
