On 29th June 2018, Slovak University of Agriculture welcomed distinguished delegation from Indonesia. The main aim of the visit was signing the Memorandum on Cooperation between our university and prestigious Indonesian university – Bogor Agricultural University. The Memorandum was signed by rector of Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra, Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., and rector of Bogor Agricultural University, Dr. Arif Satria.

In connection with the five-years existence of the Danube Transfer Centre (DTC) at our university and the awarding ceremony of an important initiator of this concept, a meeting of representatives of the international DTC network with representatives of the SUA in Nitra was held on the 26th and 27th June 2018. Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. awarded Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. H.C. Norbert Höptner, former director of the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum and Commissioner for Europe of the Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Baden-Württemberg, by the SUA Gold Medal.

Kazakh National Agricultural University in Almaty awarded the Rector of the SUA in Nitra Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., with title of Honorary Professor. The ceremony took place on 18th June 2018 and our rector received the diploma from the vice-rector of the Kazakh University prof. Tireuov Kanata Maratovich.

On May 22, the President of the Slovak Republic, Andrej Kiska, appointed seven new rectors of Slovak universities. One of the new rectors is also assoc. prof. Ing. Klaudia Halászová, PhD. who will take up the position of Rector of Slovak University of Agriculutre in Nitra in July 2018.

On 21st May 2018, the Confucius Class was officially opened at Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The Confucius Class opens the new opportunities for Chinese language teaching in Slovakia and it is only one of its kind in Central Europe.
