We could hardly find an area where more legislative changes were adopted, than in the sphere of agriculture. That is the main reason why the Department of Law and the Department of European Policies decided to organize a conference devoted to the agrarian issues already for ninth times. This year, the emphasis was put on three major areas, in particular land relations in agriculture, entrepreneurship in agriculture and the EU common agricultural policy.

On 22nd November 2017 a spectacular celebration took place at SUA in Nitra. It´s been already 30 years since students, teachers and staff of Slovak universities have been able to take part in foreign stays, whether in the form of study, internship, teaching or training mobility.

On October 31, SUA Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. received prof. Igor Litvine, Director of the Centre of Expertise in Forecasting at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa at the university campus. Negotiations aimed at preparing the ground for future Erasmus + Capacity Building project cooperation were also attended by SUA Vice-Rector for Science and Research Prof. Ing. Ján Gaduš, PhD., as well as by representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Management, the AgroBioTech Research Centre and the International Relations Office of SUA in Nitra.

Practice-oriented research is a trend in today's science as well as its future. This is evident in the growing interest of the business environment in this kind of research, but also in the innovative potential and practical usefulness of specific research results. The Technology Transfer Award in Slovakia 2017 was awarded to the best of the best. For the fifth time already, the award has proven that scientific work has a significant practical level as well and that research results have a clear objective – to be used in the common practice. The award in the category INNOVATOR was awarded to doc. Ing. Tatiana Bojňanská, CSc., Director of the AgroBioTech Research Center of SUA in Nitra.

The Slovak University of Agriculture celebrated its 65th anniversary on the 10th October 2017. Many guests, both from Slovakia and from abroad, accepted the invitation to participate in the activities marking this important event.
