On Deceber 14th a six-member delegation from the Hebei Agricultural University in China visited the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. During a meeting with SUA Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. and members of the university and faculties management the foreign partners under the leadership of the University President prof. Shen Shuxing were informed about the activities of our university workplaces. They expressed their interest in closer cooperation in student and teacher exchange as well as in joint science and research activities.

Prof. Peter Bielik entered the Hall of Fame of European Retail Agency (ERA). For the year 2018, Prof. Bielik becomes  a honoured personality of ERA. This award has been previously received by leading personalities of science, research and education as well as representatives of practice and public life. In 2014, this award was given to a former Italian Prime Minister and the President of the European Commission, Prof. Romano Prodi.

We could hardly find an area where more legislative changes were adopted, than in the sphere of agriculture. That is the main reason why the Department of Law and the Department of European Policies decided to organize a conference devoted to the agrarian issues already for ninth times. This year, the emphasis was put on three major areas, in particular land relations in agriculture, entrepreneurship in agriculture and the EU common agricultural policy.

On 22nd November 2017 a spectacular celebration took place at SUA in Nitra. It´s been already 30 years since students, teachers and staff of Slovak universities have been able to take part in foreign stays, whether in the form of study, internship, teaching or training mobility.

On October 31, SUA Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. received prof. Igor Litvine, Director of the Centre of Expertise in Forecasting at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa at the university campus. Negotiations aimed at preparing the ground for future Erasmus + Capacity Building project cooperation were also attended by SUA Vice-Rector for Science and Research Prof. Ing. Ján Gaduš, PhD., as well as by representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Management, the AgroBioTech Research Centre and the International Relations Office of SUA in Nitra.
