Prof. Walter Leal at SUA

Prof. Walter Leal of  the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany visited the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra following the invitation of the SUA Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. Prof. Leal is  a director of the research transfer centre Applications of Life Sciences and the a Honorary Doctor  of universities in Europe and Latin America awarded for international research on climate change and sustainable development.

International conference at the University of Arkansas

Representatives of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra participated in the international conference organized at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, USA. The rector of the university - dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., as well as the representatives of the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development took part in four conference sessions within various thematic fields.

Honorary titles awarded to Prof. L. Bardos and Prof. Jan Mareček

A ceremonial meeting of the Scientific Council of the Slovak University of Agriculture in  Nitra was held in the SUA assembly hall on May 22. Rector, Dr.hc prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., awarded  the honorary title of doctor honoris causa of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra  to prof. Laszlo Bardos, DVM, PhD., University of St. Stephen in Gödöllő in Hungary and prof. Ing. Jan Mareček DrSc.,  Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. • photo •

New possibilities of cooperation with Cuba

On the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Slovak Republic, H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo visited the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra on 22 May. She was welcomed  by the University Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., and Vice-rector for International and Public  Relations  prof. Dr. Ing. Elena Horská. The main purpose of the meeting was to start intensive mutual cooperation in education, science and research, mobility of teachers and students.

Erasmus Success story 2012

Within evaluation of Erasmus program and its effects the European Comission opens a call every year for Erasmus Success Story in given topic. Last year the topic was Supporting reform: role of Erasmus in higher education through mobility of staff and Erasmus Intensive programmes.
