Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra

The delegation, accompanied by the First Counselor for Agriculture of the Hungarian Embassy in Washington, Béla Kocsy, consisted of Nebraska Secretary of State Robert B. Evnen, Deputy Secretary of State Cindy Allen, and Saleh Taghvaeian, a specialist in the Department of Biosystems Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).

During the meeting with the Vice-Rector of SUA for Strategic Development and Internationalization Lucia Palšová, the Vice-Rector of SUA for Science and Research Adriana Kolesárová, the Vice-Dean of FAFR for Foreign Relations and Practice Radovan Kasarda, and the Director of International Relations Office of SUA Vladislav Valach, the guests learned about the focus of SUA, especially the possibilities of agricultural higher education and research, joint research projects, and the exchange of students and teachers.

"Nebraska is one of the most important agricultural states in the USA and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a key global center for agricultural research. There are opportunities for cooperation between both universities in the areas of sustainable agriculture, ecology and life sciences. At SUA, we also have a specialized workplace in the AgroBioTech Research Center focused on research in the field of biosystems engineering, agrobiology, applied ecology, bioenergy, bioeconomy and the development of new technologies, so the program also includes a tour of selected laboratories of the research center," said Vladislav Valach, Director of the International Relations Office

The visit confirmed the high interest of both parties in establishing cooperation and opened new perspectives for joint activities in the field of education, research and knowledge transfer. The partnership between SUA in Nitra and NLU will thus strengthen international ties and the development of agrarian and technical sciences in a global context.
