Professor Roman Gálik Re-elected Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2026–2030 Term

The election was held on 30 June. Three candidates presented their visions for the faculty's future development, with Professor Roman Gálik receiving 13 of the 20 votes cast by members of the Electoral Assembly.
In the coming years, Professor Gálik aims to further strengthen the Faculty of Engineering in five strategic areas: education, research and innovation, cooperation with industry, internationalisation, and the development of infrastructure and the academic environment.
His priorities include improving student success through mentoring initiatives, integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning, strengthening research activities and doctoral education, and expanding cooperation with industry to support innovation and technology transfer. He also plans to broaden international partnerships, develop Joint and Double Degree programmes with European universities, and increase the participation of international students and scholars in the faculty's academic life.
In addition, Professor Gálik emphasises sustainable development through diversified funding, investment in modern infrastructure, recognition of staff excellence, and continued efforts to strengthen the faculty's national and international profile.
About Professor Roman Gálik
Professor Roman Gálik graduated from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra with a degree in Agricultural Mechanisation. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2007 and Full Professor in Agricultural and Forestry Engineering in 2015. After serving as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 2007 to 2018, he became Dean in 2018 and has led the faculty ever since.
His research focuses on livestock production technologies, particularly the impact of housing systems on ammonia emissions and greenhouse gas production. He is Chair of the Faculty's Scientific Council, a member of several scientific boards, and a full member of the Slovak Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
