Radovan Kasarda Appointed Vice-Rector for Communication and Professional Practice

Prof. Kasarda succeeds Professor Pavol Findura, who will continue to serve as Managing Director of the University Agricultural Enterprise of the Slovak University of Agriculture, Ltd., in Kolíňany. The new Vice-Rector’s four-year term of office began on 1 September.
Prof. Radovan Kasarda is a university professor and researcher specialising in animal genetics and breeding biology. He works at the Institute of Nutrition and Genomics at the Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources. His professional career has been closely associated with SUA, where he obtained both his engineering and doctoral degrees.
His research focuses on the active conservation of farm animal genetic resources in Europe, particularly cattle, sheep and horses, as well as on the optimisation of breeding programmes in Slovakia and across Europe. His work also explores the use of genomic information to monitor genetic diversity and support genetic improvement of economically important traits in farm animals and game species.
“My vision is to strengthen the university’s external communication and establish a comprehensive and effective system for connecting the university with professional practice, extending to lifelong learning, professional development and micro-credentials,” said the newly appointed Vice-Rector.
