The THE Impact Rankings 2026 assessed 1,646 universities from 116 countries and regions against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The rankings evaluate the impact of universities across a broad range of activities, including teaching, research, knowledge exchange, and institutional stewardship.
SUA is one of only four Slovak universities included in this year's rankings, placing in the 1001–1500 band. Its strongest performance was recorded in SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, where it ranked in the 301–400 band worldwide. The university also achieved rankings in the 401–600 band for SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 15 – Life on Land.
These results reflect the university's long-standing focus on environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources, climate change mitigation, and rural development—areas that are central to its educational, research, and innovation activities.
SUA's debut in the THE Impact Rankings represents an important international recognition of its contribution to sustainable development and further strengthens the university's visibility within the global higher education community.
