Also in the following period 2024-2025, SUA will be able to contribute to the development of new entrepreneurial talents, support their innovative ideas and expand activities in accordance with three missions by using the EIT Food Hub logo:

· Healthier Lives Through Food - EIT Food

· Net Zero Food System - EIT Food

· Reducing Risk for a Fair and Resilient Food System - EIT Food.

The EIT Food Hub was approved on the basis of a successful application submitted by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra in cooperation with the Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic (CSTI SR), whose mission, in addition to providing comprehensive support for scientific research activities, is also the support of innovation and entrepreneurship at the national, regional and local level . This mission is also transferred to the fulfillment of the goals of the European strategy. The decisive attribute for the successful continuation of the EIT Food Hub at SUA in Nitra was the declared cooperation with CSTI SR already in the previous period, intensive cooperation with the agri-food sector with significant implementation of the results of science and research into practice.

EIT Food is a European initiative that builds a community of diverse partners in the food industry to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe. Activities at the national level will be coordinated by prof. Ing. Adriana Kolesárová, PhD. and administered by Ing. Eva Ďurčanská, PhD. from SUA in Nitra. The activities of CSTI SR will be implemented by the team of the Department of International Cooperation under the leadership of RNDr. Ing. Anna Krivjanska.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology, based in Budapest, Hungary, is an initiative of the European Union to support innovation at the system level - from education to the market. The EIT institute brings together organizations that operate in the fields of education, research and innovation (the so-called knowledge triangle) with the aim of establishing dynamic cross-border partnerships and creating environments that support innovation. The institute supports a new generation of entrepreneurs and stimulates the creation of innovative enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
