SUA has two representatives in the ranking of the world's top scientists

The recently published ranking shows the current position of researchers on a national and international scale in specific scientific fields. It provides information on universities which have the highest number of leading scientists and how individual countries are doing in this field. Seven researchers from the Slovak Academy of Sciences made it to the "Best Scientists" list. Comenius University Bratislava has five representatives, Slovak University of Agriculture has two, and Technical University Košice and Slovak Technical University Bratislava have one representative each.

Slovakia was evaluated in nine out of 24 scientific areas. In fifteen areas, our country does not have representatives among the best. Only three Slovak scientists ranked in the top 1000 in their field in the world, one of them from the SUA. Radko Mesiar from the Slovak Academy of Sciences took the 196th position in the field of Mathematics, Michal Stanko from the Slovak Academy of Sciences took the 922nd place in the field of animal and veterinary sciences, and Marián Brestič from the SUA took the 972nd position in the field of plant and agronomic sciences. The ranking not only publishes the names of leading experts and their successful publications, but also enables researchers to identify an interesting area for their own work and publication. Research.com has published the best journals, the position of which is based on a bibliometric score, calculated using the h-index and the number of leading scientists who supported the journal during the three previous years.
