SUA is one of the most successful Slovak organizations in the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects

Horizon 2020

According to data from the European Commission from November 2022, the Slovak Republic (SR) participated in the preparation of 3,555 eligible project proposals within the Horizon 2020 program.

During the seven years of the program, Slovak organizations participated in 515 projects (signed grants) with a total of 696 participations of Slovak entities. In terms of the number of participations in projects, the Slovak Republic ranked 24th in the EU-28. From the point of view of the amount of the received EU contribution for Slovak recipients, EUR 136.9 million, Slovakia ranked 25th in the EU-28.

The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, with 9 participations and one as a coordinator, is one of the most successful Slovak organizations in Horizon 2020 projects. In terms of the amount of contributions received from the EU, it is the seventh most successful Slovak organization. Leading places belong to STU in Bratislava (44 participations, 4x as coordinator), CVTI SR (36 participations, 4x as coordinator) and SAS (34 participations, 2x as coordinator).

Horizon Europe

Within the Horizon Europe program (2021 – 2027), the Slovak Republic participated in the preparation of 534 eligible project proposals, which were submitted through 114 calls for project proposals.

The Slovak Republic participated in 116 projects (signed grants) in the Horizon Europe program with a total of 149 Slovak entities participating. In terms of the number of participation in projects, the Slovak Republic ranked 23rd in the EU-27. In terms of the amount of EU financial contribution received for Slovak recipients (EUR 28.4 million), the Slovak Republic ranked 24th in the EU-27.

Out of 149 participations of Slovak organizations in projects, 14 participations were in the role of coordinator.

The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, with 4 participants, is one of the most successful Slovak organizations in the Horizon Europe projects. Leading places include CVTI SR (12 participations), Pedal Consulting (11 participations, 2x as coordinator), UK in Bratislava (7 participations, 4x as coordinator).
