SUA offers a new course Planting trees and shrubs as part of lifelong learning

The graduate of the module will master the correct techniques of planting trees and shrubs, as well as procedures for effective care of trees after planting. He will know the possibilities of adjusting the conditions in favor of trees in settlements and in the country, the quality attributes and properties of planting material of trees, as well as the procedures that are applied in the control of the quality of seedlings. He will master the methods of protecting trees from damage and the influence of various harmful agents. "Arboristry in the management and maintenance of greenery is one of the most successful lifelong learning courses that are implemented at the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering. Last year, a total of 104 graduates completed this course in all modules," informed the director of the Office of the Internal Quality Assurance System, Barbora Čakovská.

After the expansion, the educational program consists of six modules, each lasting ten hours. In addition to the aforementioned news, there are also the modules Biological properties of trees, Assessment of the condition of trees, Operational safety of trees in residential areas, Cutting of trees and shrubs, and Protection of trees during construction activities.
