SUA Receives FAO AGRIS Seal of Recognition for 2027

The recognition acknowledges SUA’s long-standing and active contribution to the development of AGRIS (International System for Agricultural Science and Technology), one of the world’s leading information resources in the field of agricultural sciences and technology. The FAO AGRIS Seal of Recognition is awarded to institutions that make a significant contribution to enriching the database with high-quality scientific and professional information.
SUA is one of the founding institutions of the FAO AGRIS network in Slovakia. As the first sub-centre of the national network, it has contributed to the system since its establishment, with the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information for Agriculture (ÚVTIP) in Nitra serving as the national network coordinator.
An important role in this cooperation has been played by the Slovak Agricultural Library, which began contributing records to AGRIS as early as 1994. These included scientific publications such as monographs and journal articles, as well as conference proceedings, collections of scientific papers and other forms of grey literature.
Through its participation in AGRIS, SUA’s scientific publications and bibliographic records have gained greater international visibility and accessibility, making them available to the global research community.
The AGRIS database has evolved significantly since its establishment. Originally distributed on optical media, it is now a modern online information system based on metadata harvesting standards and protocols. It provides efficient access to and sharing of scientific knowledge in agriculture, food science, environmental studies and related fields.
SUA is entitled to display the FAO AGRIS Seal of Recognition on its official website until the results of the next assessment are announced.
