As part of a participatory process with local actors, students from the Institute of Regional Studies and Rural Development of the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development SUA, students of the Institute of Management of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and with the support of Soňa Bellérová from the Institute of Landscape Architecture of the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering of SUA contributed their ideas.

"The Institute of Regional Studies and Rural Development has long specialized in providing services for practice in the field of participatory creation of strategic documents. Our intention for the future is to increase the intensity of student involvement in the creation of real solutions for practice," said the head of the institute, associate professor Jana Jarábková.

During the practical workshop, the students used various methods of facilitation, joint communication and joint decision-making. In thematic working groups, in which the students of the international IMRD program were also involved, they carried out a situational analysis, then formulated the intervention logic of the PHRSR in their thematic area.

According to activity coordinator Michal Hrivnák from the Institute of Regional Studies and Rural Development, the workplace also has the ambition to produce graduates who are able to fill a gap in the market in the field of planning services based on such activities. The output of the intensive workshop was project intentions and integrated territorial investments that will support the emergence of commercial and social innovations in Bánov. The students presented these intentions during the second day of the workshop in the premises of the AgroBioTech Research Center with the participation of local actors from Bánov. "They will become a valuable input in the process of creating a plan for the economic and social development of the village, which is already being prepared this year," emphasized Hrivnák.

The activity was implemented as part of the Horizon 2020 IN-HABIT project and the INVEST project.
